Imminent danger of bloodshed, in NA-217 Khairpur-III and PS-33-V

It has been reported that there is an imminent danger of bloodshed, attack at the houses of voters and random firing due to lack of security arrangements. The PPP consisting candidates reported that their rival candidates belonging the ruling party the Functional Muslim league are firing indiscriminately. The law & order of situation has been deteriorated by giving a free hand to kill the PPP workers, supporters and innocent voters with the helps of police and other government agencies. Are request to call Army and Rangers have fallen on deaf ears.

Harassment/Intimidation of PPP Candidates in PP-282 BAHAWALPUR  

A complaint has been received at the Central Election Monitoring Cell- PPP Islamabad regarding poll rigging in PP- 282 Bahawalpur constituency. It is shocking to know that DIG of the aforementioned District Mr. Ashiq Marth who is the brother-in-law of the ex Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Pervez Ilahi, is utilizing all sorts of illegal tactics to harass and intimidate PPP candidate of the said constituency. Moreover, 250 thugs have gone to the PPP candidate’s brother house and brutally assaulted him; which caused grave injuries and caused fracture in both arms. The concerned SHO Mr. Iftikhar Dhilon has blatantly refused to register the FIR. This evidently reflects the malafide on the part of the administration as well as the police officials.

Political violence and high handedness in NA-263, Barkhan, Balochistan 

It has been reported by our candidate Mir Baz Khetran, former Federal Minister and MNA, that one Major Mumtaz of Military Intelligence has had the audacity to lockup several supporters of Mir Baz Khetran, today the 16 February. One may recall that this is not the first complaint of its kind in Balochistan, PPP. It is very unsettling that even on the eve of the elections the establishment is still persisting with its high handedness without fret or fear and is resorting to strong arm tactics which is a sad story about the state of affairs in Balochistan. PPP demands that the Chief Election Commissioner MUST take immediate cognizance of these excesses and order the release of PPP supporters, besides taking action against the delinquent official of the armed forces.

Distribution of Ballot papers to PML-Q candidates by returning officer of NA-263, PS-9 and 10 District Shikarpur. 

This is yet another outrageous incident about the complicity and high handedness of RO of Shikarpur. It has been intimated to us that the distribution of ballot papers to PML-Q candidates has already started as in the case of the instant complaint where the RO distributed ballot papers to the opponent PML-Q candidate in fragrant disregard of the electoral laws. This criminal act on the part of RO has been confirmed by other witnesses including the DRO of the said constituency. The Pakistan Peoples Party has cried itself hoarse that the establishment intends to subvert the electoral laws and indulge in the most reprehensible rigging such as the distribution of ballot papers before the Election Day, to the detriment of other political parties. PPP demands immediate cognizance of the incident and order the arrest of the returning officer who has been accused of this criminal act.

Incidentally the details of the incident (with evidence) have already been reported to Election Commission and are lying on the table of the Secretary Election Commission. 

Poll-Rigging and Intimidation/Harassment of PPP workers in NA-217 Khairpur and PS-30 Khairpur-III constituencies 

The entire state machinery is being utilized in connivance with the District Nazim to brow beat the PPP loyalists/supporters into submission.

They are using all sorts of illegal tactics such as registering numerous false cases against the PPP loyalists and candidates. The ‘Kings Party; candidates in collusion with the police officials are creating havoc by harassment and intimidation of PPP workers.
