Calls for probe and arrest and punishment to perpetrators of crime

Islamabad November 25, 2007: President Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) Makhdoom Amin Fahim has condemned the murder of the Secretary General of MQM (Haqeeqi) Sharif Khan and demanded a thorough probe in the matter and arrest and punishment to the culprits.

Sharif Khan Secretary General of the MQM (Haqeeqi) was gunned down by unknown assailants in Lahore on Thursday evening. He was shot dead in front of his house in A one township in Lahore as the assailants riding a motorcycle fled the scene.

Ina statement Makhdoom Amin Fahim said that he was shocked and grieved over the brutal murder of Sharif Khan and called upon the regime to apprehend the culprits.

An FIR has already been lodged with the police naming also the accused involved in the murder.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim said that late Sharif Khan was a very active member of the ARD who attended all meetings of the Alliance on behalf of his Party and made valuable contributions to promoting the ARD cause.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim also prayed for eternal rest to the soul of late Sharif Khan and fortitude to the members of bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.
