Pakistan Peoples Party, PML-N and
ANP Heads meet in Islamabad

Islamabad April 15, 2008: PPP Co-Chairman
Senator Asif Ali Zardari, PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif and President ANP
Afandyar Wali Khan along with their aids met in Zardari House Islamabad
today to discuss the current political situation in the country.
The meeting held in a cordial atmosphere was also attended by PPP leaders
Mian Raza Rabbani, Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sherry
Rehman and Farhatullah Babar, PML-N leades Khawaja Asif, and Ahsan Iqbal and
ANP leader Zahid Khan.
The meeting reiterated the commitment made in the Bhurban Declaration to the
restoration of judges.
The meeting also took stock of the on going war on terror and resolved that
as already announced, the government will follow the path of negotiations
with those who lay down arms as an element of policy in the fight against
terrorism.
It also took note of and condemned the conspiracies against the newly
elected government.
In this connection the leaders expressed concern over the recent incidents
in Karachi as a conspiracy against the Sindh government and that in Lahore
and Multan as part of conspiracy against the new Punjab government. The
meeting resolved to foil with the help of the people all conspiracies
hatched by antidemocratic forces.
