Plans chalked out for Birthday functions of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto

Islamabad June 19, 2008: Plans have been chalked out for functions in connection with the birthday of Party's Chairperson Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto falling on Saturday June 21. The functions to be held throughout the country will be held in low key with no fanfare and no cake cutting.

Large scale portraits of Shaheed Mohtarma with flowers and candle light around will adorn the venue of functions and Quran Khawani will be held at maximum number of places. The Party leaders and workers will donate blood on the day at special camps to be set up for the purpose.

The main function in connection with the birthday celebration of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in the twin cities will be held in Rawalpindi at the Liaquat Bagh venue where she was assassinated on December 27 last.

A Camp will be set up on Saturday June 21 at the Liaquat Bagh venue of assassination where the Party workers will donate blood during the day. Later in the evening a commemorative function marked by Quran Khawani and a vigil will be held to pay homage to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Federal Ministers in Islamabad and Party leaders from the twin cities including Raja Pervez Ashraf Minister for Water and Power, Qamar Zaman.
